Hey friend, let’s take a moment to read Isaiah 59:1. It’s a powerful passage that talks about the kind of relationship we want to have with God. After reading it, let’s think about what that relationship might look like and then ask God to help us make it happen. 💕✌️🙏

Dear Divine Presence of Mercy and Light, in the midst of the rising floodwaters and the soaring prayers, we come before you with hearts open, carrying with us a tapestry of sorrow, confusion, gratitude, and hope.
We lift up the people of Texas, where nearly 70 lives have been lost to devastating floods, and where families still await, their hearts heavy with grief. We remember particularly the children of Camp Mystic, whose summer dreams were tragically swept away in the night. We honor the life of Dick Eastland, whose final act was one of courage and love—a shepherd laying down his life for the lambs in his care. May his memory be a blessing, and may all who mourn be enveloped in your comforting embrace.
For the survivors who recall the anguished cries of cars and trailers, for the rescuers who persevere through exhaustion and heartbreak, and for the communities rebuilding from the ruins, we grant them strength, healing, and the grace to carry one another forward.
As the world observes the expiration of tariff pauses and the uncertainty they entail, we pray for wisdom among leaders, that decisions made in boardrooms and briefings would not deepen divisions or exacerbate suffering. May justice guide our economies, and may compassion temper our policies.
In the hills of Dharamshala, where thousands gathered to celebrate the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday, we express our gratitude for a life devoted to peace, for a voice that has resonated with us, calling us to compassion, and for the enduring light of wisdom in a world often beset by fear. May his message transcend the celebration—that peace of mind begins with a benevolent heart and that love for all beings is the highest path.
For all beings—the grieving and the rejoicing, the powerful and the powerless, the seen and the unseen—may peace prevail, love lead, and hope endure. Amen ![]()

Dear Eternal Spirit of Light and Love, we give thanks for the sacred spaces—both physical and spiritual—where hearts gather, voices rise, and silence speaks. Bless all places of worship across the world, where people come seeking truth, healing, and communion with You and one another.
We lift up the Champaign-Urbana Society of Friends as they prepare to gather this Sunday. May the hymn singing at 10:00 AM fill the commons with joy and unity, each note a thread weaving us closer together. As the Meeting for Worship begins at 10:30 AM, may the silence be deep and alive, a sanctuary where Your Spirit moves freely among those gathered in person and online. May the spoken ministry that arises be tender, true, and led by Your divine whisper.
As we share introductions and announcements around 11:30 AM, may we recognize the sacred in one another’s presence. Let each name spoken be a reminder that we are not alone, but part of a living, breathing community of grace.
We give thanks for the gift of fellowship, especially on Potluck Sundays. Whether a dish is brought or simply a heart open to connection, may all feel welcome at the table. Let laughter, conversation, and shared nourishment be a reflection of Your abundance.
As we step into the week ahead, may we do so with a profound sense of unity and purpose. Let our words be gentle, our actions rooted in love, and our paths illuminated by divine success. May peace dwell in our homes, courage in our hearts, and compassion in all we do.
In stillness and in song, in solitude and in community— May we walk gently, love boldly, and live as vessels of Your light.
Amen 💕✌️🙏

Hey friend! Today’s challenge is to read John 8:32 and then think about some things you can do to improve your life. Here are some ideas:
– Attend church regularly.
– Be a good listener and offer encouragement to others.
– Pray more often.
– Memorize a Bible verse.
– Study the Bible regularly.
– Eat healthier.
– Be more accountable for your actions.
– Exercise regularly.
After you’ve thought about these things, take some time to evaluate what you need to work on. Write down what you want to do differently and commit to work on it. 💕✌️🙏

Dear Holy and Compassionate One, in the midst of the current’s fury and the flickering flames, we come before you today with hearts heavy with sorrow, burdened by the weight of injustice, and yet, we hold onto the fragile hope that peace may still prevail.
We extend our deepest condolences to the people of Texas, where floodwaters have claimed 27 lives and shattered countless families. We remember the missing children of Camp Mystic, a place once filled with songs and scripture, now echoing with silence and search. We hold close the parents who await answers, the rescuers who press on through exhaustion, and the survivors who carry the haunting memory of screams from cars and trailers swept away. May comfort rise like dry ground beneath their feet.
As Tropical Storm Chantal churns the Atlantic and approaches our shores, we implore you to provide protection—for the Carolinas, for the vulnerable, and for all those in the storm’s path. May preparedness meet mercy, and may communities come together in strength and care.
We lift up the weary and the watchful as the GOP megabill moves forward, laden with tax breaks for the privileged and cuts that may wound the poor. May lawmakers remember that justice is not a mere line item, and that the soul of a nation is measured by how it treats its most vulnerable.
We grieve the forced deportation of men from Asia and Latin America to South Sudan—a land not their own, a place fraught with danger and uncertainty. Though their crimes may be grave, let us never lose sight of their humanity. May mercy temper judgment, and let due process never be sacrificed on the altar of fear.
In Paris, where the River Seine flows once more with swimmers after a century-long ban, we glimpse a symbol of renewal and joy. May this be a reminder that healing is possible, that what was once polluted can be made clean, and that even amidst sorrow, beauty still emerges.
For all beings—the grieving and the rejoicing, the powerful and the powerless, the seen and the unseen—may peace prevail. May love lead. May hope endure. Amen ![]()

Hey friend, let’s take a look at John 8:32. Think about how God has blessed you with understanding the truth through your obedience. How does this understanding set you free? 💕✌️🙏

Dear Divine Presence of Mercy and Justice, you who reside in every breath, every boundary, every shattered heart, we address you today not with fear, but with an enduring longing. We yearn for peace in a world teetering on the edge of tension, for wisdom in the halls of power, and for compassion to emerge where division has taken root.
We extend our prayers to those ensnared in the crossfire of politics and policy. As leaders “promote” the megabill with competing visions, we implore that truth not be lost in rhetoric and that the most vulnerable not be sacrificed for the sake of power. Let every decision be guided by justice, and every law be crafted with love.
We lift up those whose lives are shaped by economic fluctuations. For the elderly who may find solace in a $6,000 deduction and for the millions who fear the potential consequences of Medicaid cuts, we extend our support. May we remember that budgets are not merely numerical figures, but reflections of our collective spirit.
We grieve for the lives lost in Texas’ devastating floods. We mourn the six souls confirmed deceased and the children still missing in the rising waters. May their families find solace, and may the efforts of those searching and rescuing be strengthened. May the earth’s tremors awaken us to the profound responsibility of caring for creation with reverence.
We pray for peace in the realm of nations. As tariff threats disrupt markets and strain alliances, we implore humility to guide our leaders, and cooperation to triumph over pride. Let not the language of trade become a weapon, but a conduit for mutual respect.
We hold in prayer the people of Ukraine, as bombs fall and lives are shattered. We lift up the voices of those seeking safety and the leaders who strive for peace amidst the rubble. May the dialogue between nations lead not to further delay, but to a genuine and enduring ceasefire.
Even in moments of celebration, such as Joey Chestnut’s triumphant mustard crown, we express gratitude for the enduring joy, the cherished traditions, and the laughter that reminds us of our shared humanity.
For all beings—the grieving and the rejoicing, the powerful and the powerless, the seen and the unseen—may peace prevail, love guide, and hope endure. Amen. ![]()
