1. God Helps Us Make Good Choices
The Bible teaches that our choices matter. God loves us and gives us wisdom so we can choose what is good.
- Galatians 6:7–8 — We grow what we plant.
- Proverbs 4:26 — Think about where you’re going.
- Deuteronomy 30:19 — Choose life!
Kids can understand this easily: Good choices help us grow. Bad choices make life harder. God helps us choose well.
2. Looking Inside Our Hearts
Julia talked about “taking inventory,” which means stopping to think about what we’re doing and how we’re living.
The Bible says:
- Psalm 139:23–24 — “God, look inside my heart and help me see what needs to change.”
For kids, this means:
- Think about your actions.
- Notice when something isn’t right.
- Ask God to help you make better choices.
This isn’t about feeling bad — it’s about letting God help us grow.
3. Turning Big Feelings Into Good Actions
Julia said she turned her anger into motivation. The Bible teaches us that feelings aren’t wrong — it’s what we do with them that matters.
- Ephesians 4:26 — It’s okay to feel angry, but don’t let it lead to sin.
- Nehemiah 2:17–18 — Nehemiah used his frustration to do something good.
Kids can learn:
- When you feel upset, talk to God.
- Use your feelings to do something helpful.
- Let God turn your big feelings into good choices.
4. Making a Plan With God
Julia wrote down what she wanted to change. The Bible encourages us to plan wisely.
- Habakkuk 2:2 — Write the vision.
- Proverbs 21:5 — Good planning leads to good things.
Kids can:
- Write or draw goals.
- Make simple plans like “I will be kind today” or “I will listen better.”
- Ask God to help them follow through.
5. Growing or Staying Stuck
Julia said we can grow through hard things or stay stuck doing the same old habits. The Bible says:
- Romans 8:5–6 — Follow the Spirit, not the old ways.
- Romans 12:2 — Let God change how you think.
Kids can understand:
- God helps us grow even when life is hard.
- We can choose to learn, listen, and try again.
- We don’t have to stay stuck — God helps us move forward.
6. Grace + Choices = Growth
Julia’s message reminds us:
- God gives grace.
- We make choices.
- Grace helps us make better choices.
- Our choices shape our future.
For kids: God loves you. God helps you. And you can make good choices every day.
